The funeral prayers for Superintendent of Police (SP) Adeel Akbar were offered at Police Lines on Thursday, attended by a large number of senior officials, law enforcement personnel, and civilians.
The service was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, who joined police officers and other civilians in paying their final respects. Following the prayers, his body was sent to his ancestral village with official state honors.
SP Adeel Akbar, who served as SP Industrial Area, died under tragic circumstances. The incident occurred near Srinah Chowk in the federal capital, where he reportedly died by suicide.
According to police sources, the senior officer succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition but could not survive.
The police have indicated the case as an apparent suicide, marking a somber end to the career of a senior law enforcement official.
