Islamabad (Special Reporter )
The mystery surrounding the death of SP Adeel Akbar near Serena Hotel, one of Islamabad’s most sensitive areas, continues to deepen as the inquiry committee formed by the Interior Minister has failed to produce any conclusive report even after five days.
No FIR has been registered, and neither has any medical or postmortem report been made public to determine whether SP Adeel Akbar’s death was a suicide or a murder. Sources indicate that the committee appears inclined to classify the case by labeling the officer as “mentally disturbed,” raising serious concerns within the federal police force.
According to insiders, frustration and anxiety are spreading among Islamabad Police officers over the lack of progress. The three-member committee formed to investigate the incident has reportedly limited its work to collecting statements only, without any tangible outcome so far.
Five days after the incident, the committee has maintained a mysterious silence, with no official findings or evidence shared with the public or the media. Meanwhile, several of SP Adeel Akbar’s colleagues have voiced their opinions and concerns on social media, questioning the transparency and direction of the ongoing investigation.
The tragic incident took place on October 23 within the jurisdiction of Secretariat Police Station, Islamabad. However, despite the passage of several days, there has been no substantial progress or official clarification regarding the circumstances surrounding the senior officer’s death.
