Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Chairs Meeting to Review Infrastructure and Modernization of Karachi Ports

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to review the infrastructure facilities at Karachi’s ports.

According to a statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was attended by the Minister for Maritime Affairs, secretaries from the maritime and finance ministries, and the chairmen of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Port Qasim Authority (PQA).

The committee reviewed recent modernization efforts that have enhanced cargo movement efficiency and reduced transaction costs. Participants also discussed future improvements in port operations through the adoption of advanced IT systems and engineering solutions.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar directed the immediate implementation of the proposed reforms to ensure greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the country’s port operations.
