Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry have strongly refuted claims that Kashmiris are being harassed in Islamabad under the guise of security checks. Speaking at a joint press conference on Friday, they emphasized that Islamabad is a home for Kashmiri brothers and sisters and that love for Kashmir remains deeply rooted in the hearts of all Pakistanis.
Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that recent videos circulating on social media depict false propaganda aimed at creating hostility against Pakistan and its institutions. “Our leadership’s love for the Kashmiri people is well-known, and these videos are part of an enemy agenda to spread hatred after their defeat in the recent conflict,” he added.
He urged the youth not to share such videos without verification and recounted an incident during the Joint Action Committee’s long march. A woman from Dherkot assisted injured police personnel and took them to Bagh Hospital. However, the event has been misrepresented in social media as happening in Islamabad. Dr. Tariq said a committee, including federal ministers and senior leaders, was formed to resolve the issue through dialogue, demonstrating Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
“Prime Minister also showed willingness to provide a grant of PKR 30 billion to resolve the matter. No propaganda can diminish the love Pakistanis have for Kashmir,” he said. He added that Pakistan’s efforts for the resolution of the Kashmir issue will continue, and the bond between Pakistan and the Kashmiri people has only grown stronger after the recent conflict.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the videos are misleading, edited, and often combined with fake audio. “They falsely portray that Kashmiris are mistreated in Islamabad, which is completely baseless. Islamabad Police acts responsibly to ensure law and order and protect foreign visitors. Any negligence is not tolerated, and police operations are closely monitored,” he added.
He reiterated that Islamabad is Pakistan’s capital and a home for Kashmiri brothers and sisters, warning that sharing unverified videos is both illegal and unethical. Authorities will take action against those creating and spreading such content.
