In the past 24 hours, Islamabad has reported 19 new dengue cases as authorities continue rigorous measures to curb the spread of the virus. According to a statement issued by the district administration on Friday, intensive dengue control activities are underway across the federal capital.
Daily surveillance reports show that fogging operations were conducted at 887 sensitive locations to prevent mosquito breeding. A total of 43,107 inspections were carried out across various sectors of the city. During larva checks, 251 positive hotspots were identified, including 15 cases in rural areas and 4 in urban areas.
Currently, 48 dengue patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across Islamabad. Spraying operations were conducted at 278 sites in multiple sectors and union councils. Dengue teams have been instructed to provide daily inspection and performance reports from affected areas.
The district administration warned that violations of dengue SOPs have led to closures of public spaces and detention of several individuals. Awareness banners and information boards have been installed at public locations, urging citizens to maintain cleanliness and follow dengue prevention guidelines. Authorities emphasized that collective public participation is key to making Islamabad dengue-free.
