ISLAMABAD (Special Reporter)

In compliance with the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister, the Cooperative Department Rawalpindi organized an anti-dengue awareness walk in Rawalpindi Media Town. The walk was led by Circle Registrar Cooperative Rawalpindi, Chaudhry Nasir Mahmood, and aimed at raising awareness about dengue fever and preventive measures.

Addressing the participants, Circle Registrar Chaudhry Nasir Mahmood said that the purpose of the “Dengue Mosquito Fever Awareness Campaign” and the walk was to collectively launch an effort to eliminate the dengue mosquito. He explained that dengue fever is caused by the bite of a mosquito that breeds in clean, stagnant water and usually bites during sunrise and sunset.

He urged the public to ensure that no water accumulates in plant pots, flower beds, homes, offices, and schools. He also advised using mosquito-repellent lotion on exposed body parts, performing mosquito spraying, and keeping water storage containers and tanks covered.

He added that high fever, flu, body aches, joint pain, headache, red spots on the skin, and bleeding from the mouth are symptoms of dengue fever—emphasizing the need to seek immediate medical attention if such symptoms appear.

A large number of Media Town residents participated in the walk. Inspector Chaudhry Asad Ali, Inspector Khawar Mehmood, Inspector Asim Mushtaq, Inspector Muazam Ali, Society Manager Hafeez Malik, and other society members were also present.
