A meeting chaired by Federal Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi was held at the Railway Headquarters in Lahore to discuss development plans around Lahore Railway Station. DG LDA Tahir Farooq briefed the minister on the proposed development initiatives for the area surrounding the station.

Minister Hanif Abbasi praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision for sustainable development, stating that the Lahore Railway Station development project would be a game-changer for the entire area. He also suggested connecting the Orange Line Train stop directly with the railway station for better commuter accessibility.

According to DG LDA Tahir Farooq, the development project will cover a 3-kilometer radius around the station at an estimated cost of PKR 2 billion. The project includes sustainable development works around the railway station, Masri Shah, Aik Moria, Do Moria Bridges, and Iqbal Chowk.

The plan aims to improve facades around Aik Moria and Do Moria Bridges, remove encroachments in the busiest and oldest parts of the city to ease traffic, eliminate garbage, and introduce walkways and green areas. Additionally, parking spaces, footpaths, seating areas, and landscaped zones will be created in front of the station.
