Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has commented on potential talks with Syria and security measures along Israel’s northern border. In his statement, Netanyahu said that a possible agreement with Syria could be reached soon if conditions improve, highlighting that any deal would require a foundation of positive intent and mutual understanding of principles.

He emphasized Israel’s demand for a fully demilitarized buffer zone stretching from Damascus to Mount Hermon, stating that protecting border communities and ensuring national security along the northern front remains a top priority. Netanyahu also noted that Israel will continue taking measures to safeguard its Druze allies and prevent terrorist activities.

“The prevention of ground, missile, and other attacks from border areas is our foremost priority,” Netanyahu said, adding that the buffer zone should include Mount Hermon and surrounding regions.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect Israel’s ongoing focus on maintaining security and stability along its northern frontier while exploring diplomatic avenues for de-escalation with Syria.
