Parliamentary Secretary Daniyal Chaudhry Says Pakistan Gradually Overcoming Economic Challenges

RAWALPINDI by IRFAN UL HAQ

Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Daniyal Chaudhry stated that Pakistan is gradually emerging from economic difficulties, leaving behind the “crutches” phase. Speaking to the business community at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI), he said that the government has taken tough but necessary decisions over the past one and a half years to stabilize the economy, and positive results are now becoming visible.

Daniyal Chaudhry noted that when the government assumed office, the country was facing severe economic challenges. “Thanks to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision and a strong team, Pakistan is now on the path of economic recovery,” he said. He compared the economic progress to a “broken leg” scenario: after the plaster and crutches phase, the country is now moving gradually toward running.

He highlighted that strict economic policies were unavoidable due to commitments made to the IMF by the previous government, but the current administration has effectively harmonized these policies to strengthen the economy. Daniyal Chaudhry assured the business community that as economic momentum increases, tax burdens will ease and business activities will become smoother.

The parliamentary secretary also praised efforts under Minister Hanif Abbasi to revitalize Pakistan Railways, stating that the institution has now been restored to effective operation. He commended the services of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing that the business community forms the backbone of the country’s progress, and the government will continue to fully support their issues.

He concluded by thanking RCCI President Usman Shaukat, Group Leader Sohail Altaf, and other officials for organizing the event.
