Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider Khan Meets Business Delegation to Discuss Economic Reforms and Investment

Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider Khan met with a delegation from the business community organization, Fifth Pillar, led by Abid Ali Butt, President of the Pakistan Economic Movement Fifth Pillar, at Governor House Lahore. The meeting focused on key points regarding Pakistan’s economic improvement and reforms in economic policies.

Governor Punjab emphasized the importance of consulting business representatives when formulating economic policies, noting that the business community is the backbone of the country’s economic growth. He praised entrepreneurs for continuing to invest in the country despite challenges and stressed the need to provide a favorable environment for sustainable economic development.

The Governor assured the delegation that the issues raised by the business community would be conveyed to the relevant authorities and underlined that collective efforts are essential for national progress and stability.

During the discussion, the delegation highlighted the commitment of overseas Pakistanis to bring investment into the country and urged for direct involvement of the business sector in policymaking. They recommended that representatives of traders be included on advisory boards and policymaking forums on a permanent basis.

The delegation included Dr. Ijaz A. Qureshi, Zafar Mahmood Funder (Senior Vice President, Lahore Chamber), senior journalist Zulfiqar Rehmat, Kashif Khokhar (President, Kasur Chamber), Afshan Sabah (Secretary, Pakistan Economic Movement Fifth Pillar), and other members.
