Information Minister Attaullah Tarar Praises Armed Forces, Criticizes PTI Leadership and Highlights PML-N Development Agenda

LAHORE BUREAU REPORT

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that Pakistan’s enemies fear the country’s armed forces and that the leadership of Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir commands “overwhelming deterrence.” Speaking at a public gathering in Union Council 240, Lahore, he said those who criticize an army that “defeated an enemy five times larger” should be ashamed.

Tarar added that the Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) has laid a vast network of development projects across the country, and that the progress achieved under the leadership of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is visible nationwide. He said national development is the hallmark of the PML-N.

Criticizing the PTI’s 12-year rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the minister claimed the province saw no meaningful progress in education, health, or infrastructure. He highlighted that under Nawaz Sharif’s vision, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif established Pakistan’s first modern Kidney and Liver Institute, where over 1,000 successful transplants have been completed. He added that PTI failed to build even a single comparable hospital.

Tarar praised the Safe Cities project in Lahore—another PML-N initiative—and said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is further expanding it. He contrasted Punjab’s progress with what he termed mismanagement and poor governance in KP, claiming that basic public services there continue to deteriorate.

Referring to the events of May 9, the minister said that attacks on martyrs’ monuments and security installations were unforgivable crimes. He alleged that the PTI founder caused economic damage, mishandled public funds, and attempted to destabilize the state. Tarar also said PTI’s alleged communication with the IMF to undermine Pakistan was a deeply regrettable act aimed at creating chaos.

He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership for steering the country away from economic collapse, reducing inflation, stabilizing reserves, and restoring global confidence in Pakistan’s green passport. “No one will be allowed to sabotage national progress or play with Pakistan’s security,” he asserted.

The minister said that all national institutions under the Prime Minister’s leadership are working day and night for the country’s prosperity, and praised Field Marshal Asim Munir as a leader committed to national defence.

Tarar added that the PML-N government continues to deliver on its promises, with rapid improvements underway in road infrastructure, drainage systems, street lighting, health facilities, and other public services. He emphasized that all development schemes are being implemented transparently to ensure proper use of funds and long-term benefits for citizens.

Earlier, the federal minister inaugurated several local development projects at the event and reiterated the government’s commitment to public welfare and timely completion of ongoing schemes.
