PTI’s Decisions Incomprehensible, Foreign Interference Concerns Growing: MQM Chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui

KARACHI BUREAU REPORT

MQM Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that the recent decisions of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are beyond comprehension, warning that growing concerns point toward possible foreign interference in national politics. Addressing a press conference in Karachi alongside senior leaders Dr. Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal, he stressed that Pakistan cannot afford political instability at such a critical juncture in its history.

Siddiqui said that MQM’s seats in Karachi were “snatched” in the 2018 elections, and that the city’s genuine representation had long been absent from the national forums. He said political crises continue to emerge in different forms, and PTI’s decisions raise serious questions. Statements coming from abroad, he added, must be examined closely to determine whether elements of a larger conspiracy are being cultivated.

He asserted that the MQM stands for the freedom and survival of the country. “Political differences may exist, but in difficult times we must stand together,” he said, urging the public, political leadership, and the Pakistan Armed Forces to unite in the national interest. He reminded that opposition parties stood with PTI during national tragedies in the past and called for a joint struggle against destabilizing attempts.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM leader Mustafa Kamal said the Pakistan Army does not belong to any single party but to the entire nation. He praised the military for thwarting the ambitions of an enemy “eight times stronger” during the recent conflict. Calling the Army a steadfast shield against India’s internal and external hostility, he said Pakistan’s regional standing had strengthened due to the military’s sacrifices.

Kamal criticized the PTI chairman for attempting to demoralize the armed forces, saying MQM rejects any narrative that suggests a divide between the Army and the people. “This is our Army, and we are proud of it,” he said.

MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar said PTI’s politics revolve around hostility towards the Army and state institutions. He said such a narrative could only come from a “mentally disturbed person, not an enlightened one.” He also criticized the KP Chief Minister for his statements against the military leadership. “Imran Khan was removed through a constitutional and democratic process. Enough is enough— the patience of the nation is running out,” Sattar added.
