Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has praised state institutions for taking a firm and uncompromising stance regarding the PTI founder, calling it a “commendable and timely” move. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Energy on Sunday, the minister said that anyone who spreads false narratives and poisonous campaigns against the Pakistan Army is a traitor to the nation and undeserving of any leniency.
Leghari said the December 5 press conference of the DG ISPR was not merely the voice of the military spokesperson but “the voice of the entire nation.” He accused the PTI founder of losing his mental balance after the failure of what he described as “foreign-backed agendas,” adding that the individual continues to cause suffering to the nation with misleading claims.
The minister said the PTI founder, once “manufactured by specific powers,” now stands fully exposed, with the Army’s spokesperson having revealed his “true face” before the nation. He reiterated that freedom of speech can never supersede national security, and fully supported firm action against those who use such freedoms to run hostile campaigns against the state.
Leghari welcomed what he called the “direct and meaningful questions” raised by the DG ISPR toward the PTI founder, saying the nation also awaits answers. He questioned why the PTI leader built narratives against the armed forces while refusing to speak against terrorists, despite enjoying four years in federal power and twelve years in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The minister said the people of Pakistan will not fall for misleading narratives and stressed that no individual is more important than the country’s security. He also paid tribute to Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for what he described as courageous and patriotic leadership. Leghari lauded the armed forces for defeating “an eight-times stronger enemy” during the night between May 6 and 7, calling it a historic achievement that elevated Pakistan’s global standing.
Leghari added that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s policies against extremist elements were praiseworthy and expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue to grow stronger, more prosperous, and more respected under his military leadership. “Insha’Allah, Pakistan will flourish,” he concluded.
