A special Guard of Honour ceremony was held in honor of Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
During the dignified ceremony, contingents of all three armed forces presented a Guard of Honour to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-e-Jurat, who is serving as both the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Forces. The ceremony was organized in recognition of his appointment as Pakistan’s first-ever Chief of Defence Forces.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, along with other senior military officers, were also present on the occasion. The honour guard presented a general salute to the chief guest, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir inspected the parade.
It is noteworthy that, for the first time in the country’s history, a Guard of Honour was presented by contingents of all three armed forces to the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The ceremony marked the beginning of an important organizational transformation following the historic success of “Ma‘raka-e-Haq.” The armed forces of Pakistan are now better prepared to perform their duties in future modern warfare. “Ma‘raka-e-Haq” was described as a historic multi-domain conflict in South Asia in which two neighboring states confronted each other, and, by the grace of Allah, Pakistan achieved success.
During the conflict, the Pakistan Air Force, under the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, reportedly demonstrated outstanding performance by shooting down seven enemy aircraft, including four Rafale jets, and destroying an S-400 battery system. Meanwhile, under the command of Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, the Pakistan Navy effectively defended the country’s maritime boundaries.
Due to the preparedness and strong defensive posture of the Pakistan Navy, the Indian Navy reportedly did not dare to initiate hostilities from the sea.
