LAHORE (Bureau Report)
Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, while addressing a press conference in the provincial capital, launched a strong critique against political opponents, stating that “only a mental health doctor can negotiate with a mentally unstable person.”
She accused certain political leaders of using abusive language and attempting to create controversy around the armed forces, asserting that no one would be allowed to cross constitutional red lines. Aurangzeb claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was responsible for attacks on military installations and said that those who fuel discord in the federation are labeled traitors, while those who conspire with foreign adversaries are considered enemies of the state.
The minister reiterated that national security cannot be compromised and that the Constitution clearly defines the punishment for those who act against the nation’s interests. She alleged that “foreign funding from Israel and India” was influencing PTI’s actions and accused its leadership of orchestrating the events of May 9 to conceal corruption.
Aurangzeb warned that elements involved in anti-state activities would be dealt with like any other enemies of the country. Referring to threats of violence against government properties, she said no one had the right to incite such actions and emphasized that both the people of Pakistan and its armed forces were fully capable of defending the nation.
She stressed a policy of zero tolerance toward abusive language and actions against state institutions, adding that anyone violating the law would face consequences. The minister concluded that those whose “true faces have been exposed” were now attempting to hide behind political narratives, but the Constitution clearly defines the limits of freedom of expression and the response to those who cross them.
