Former PPP Peshawar City President Demands Immediate Removal of KP Governor and Provincial President Over Party’s Collapse

ISLAMABAD (City Reporter)

Former President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Peshawar City, Zulfiqar Ahmad Afghani, has demanded the immediate removal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Division President Misbah-ud-Din from their posts, holding them responsible for the party’s collapse in the province.

Speaking at a press conference at the National Press Club in Islamabad, Afghani stated that the PPP is the party of martyrs and rejects any fake city organization, calling for organizational restructuring in consultation with party stakeholders. He criticized the current leadership for creating “dummy organizations” and claimed that, except for cantonment areas, no local leaders have been elected in the entire province.

He added that despite the sacrifices made by party workers in Peshawar, incompetent leadership has driven supporters to other parties. “The province has been ruined by the governor and provincial president, and a state of lawlessness prevails within the party,” he said. Afghani further noted that loyal members like Syed Zahir Ali Shah have been ignored, while positions have been given to those who previously opposed the party.

He urged PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari to safeguard the party, describing it as the legacy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. Afghani also mentioned that on December 27, during Benazir Bhutto’s anniversary, a major gathering will be held in Peshawar to announce the party’s future strategy.

PPP Central Secretariat in-charge Syed Sabt Haider Bukhari assured that internal differences are natural in any party and promised that the issues would be resolved within a week, with continuous updates being provided to the party chairman.
