ISLAMABAD (STAFF Reporter)

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will host Pakistan’s first technical exhibition on disaster preparedness, named DEWTE (Disaster Early Warning Tech Expo), aimed at promoting practical measures among youth to combat disasters and the negative impacts of climate change.

The two-day tech expo will commence tomorrow at the NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad and continue until December 11, focusing on early warning systems, disaster preparedness, and proactive measures. The exhibition is designed to inspire young innovators to showcase their inventions, models, and software solutions.

Participants from fields including artificial intelligence, remote sensing, electrical engineering, and robotics will actively take part in various competitions, with cash prizes and internships awarded to winners. The expo will also provide youth an opportunity to present their innovations directly to representatives of relevant government agencies.

NDMA emphasized that the best innovations by young participants could be practically implemented to address the adverse effects of disasters and climate change in Pakistan. The initiative reflects NDMA’s ongoing commitment to establishing a modern system for disaster risk management and mitigation.
