The Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority (PSBA) has been awarded international certification for maintaining high standards by a reputable Swiss-based global certification body.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority has received ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications, becoming the first institution of its kind to achieve these prestigious international standards.
The authority has also set a unique record by establishing more than 17,000 stalls across Punjab. Out of these, 6,000 stalls are operating in 36 districts, while 1,000 stalls have been set up in 10 newly established Sahulat Bazaars. Additionally, more than 10,000 temporary weekly stalls are functioning across the province to facilitate the public.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed happiness and congratulated the Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority on achieving global certification. She also set a target to launch Sahulat Bazaars in three more districts by January.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that the role of the Sahulat Bazaar Authority in providing affordable and quality essential commodities to the public is unforgettable. She added that ensuring access to affordable and quality goods is the right of the people of Punjab, and provincial government institutions are being transformed into true service-oriented entities.
The Chief Minister further said that initiatives like affordable bread and flour are clear evidence of the government’s commitment to public welfare. She reaffirmed her resolve to expand the network of Sahulat Bazaars from divisions and districts to tehsils and gradually to smaller cities.
