KP CM Sohail Afridi Pays Surprise Visit to Lady Reading Hospital, Bans Mobile Phone Use During Duty

Peshawar (Bureau Report):
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi paid a surprise late-night visit to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, where citizens lodged numerous complaints against the hospital administration.

Patients and attendants complained that patients are left unattended for long periods, while the hospital administration and staff remain busy using mobile phones during duty hours, causing serious difficulties in medical treatment.

Taking notice of the complaints, CM Sohail Afridi announced that from now on, hospital administration, government school teachers, and all government employees will not be allowed to use mobile phones during duty hours.

The chief minister appealed to the public to record videos if they see any doctor or staff member using a mobile phone during duty and send them to the authorities for immediate action. “You send the complaint, the rest is my responsibility,” he said, adding that the complaint cell is being activated to ensure prompt redressal of public grievances.

He also issued strict instructions to the hospital administration to provide immediate and quality medical facilities to patients and warned that negligence would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
