Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Distributes Laptops to Merit Students, Announces Danish School in Haripur

HARIPUR (Bureau Report)

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said that the youth are the heroes and architects of the nation, and the country’s progress is guaranteed through the younger generation. He was addressing a laptop distribution ceremony among outstanding students in Haripur.

The prime minister said he was pleased to participate in the ceremony and praised the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as brave and resilient. He stated that the people of the province had made great sacrifices for the country, which led to the restoration of peace, and that history would always remember their contributions.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan would become a great nation when all four provinces progressed together. He said that hard work, honesty, and brotherhood were the keys to national development.

During the event, when the microphone briefly stopped working, the prime minister remarked humorously that it had been turned off by his fist, adding that it was “the same fist that taught the Narendra Modi government a lesson,” which, he claimed, would not be forgotten.

Referring to national security, the prime minister said that on the morning of May 10, Allah Almighty granted Pakistan a great victory, which belonged not to him personally but to the entire nation. He credited the success to the prayers of the people and the professionalism of the armed forces, adding that Pakistan’s stature and respect had increased at the global level.

Shehbaz Sharif said that laptops were being distributed strictly on 100 percent merit, recalling that he had faced criticism from the opposition when he introduced similar initiatives as chief minister. He noted that Pakistan’s economy had faced difficulties in 2023 and 2024 but had now emerged from crisis and was moving toward stability.

He stressed the need to take Pakistan toward sustained economic growth, learn from past decisions, and prepare for the future. “Development will not come through magic, but through hard work,” he said.

The prime minister also announced the establishment of a Danish School in Haripur, including a separate campus for girls, and the construction of the Haripur Bridge. He said that students across Pakistan would be sent abroad for training in artificial intelligence (AI).

He concluded by saying that national unity was essential for Pakistan to regain its lost status and that no force could stop the country’s progress if the nation stood united.
