China has strongly condemned the United States’ decision to sell arms to Taiwan, calling it a serious violation of the One-China principle. A spokesperson from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the US arms sale to Taiwan poses a serious threat to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.The spokesperson urged the United States to immediately halt its dangerous actions of arming Taiwan and to adhere to the commitments made by its leadership.
The announcement comes after the Trump administration approved an $11 billion arms package for Taiwan. According to Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the package includes rocket systems, howitzers, anti-tank missiles, drones, and other military equipment.China’s response underscores its longstanding opposition to any foreign military support for Taiwan and emphasizes that such actions could escalate regional tensions.
