Members of the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly visited the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). A meeting was held in the RDA Conference Room, where the Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, presented a comprehensive briefing on the Authority’s ongoing planning initiatives, major achievements, and future development targets.
During the meeting, participants reviewed several key ongoing and upcoming development projects, including the Rawalpindi Ring Road, Dualization and Improvement of Chak Beli Road, Construction of an underpass at Stadium Road, Rehabilitation of Murree Road from Flashman to Faizabad, Rehabilitation of High Court Road, and other important development schemes.
The Director General RDA also briefed the participants on approved, unapproved, and illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi, and informed that strict and indiscriminate action is being taken against illegal housing schemes across the city.
The DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, reaffirmed the Authority’s strong commitment to modern urban development, transparency, and timely completion of projects, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She stated that these initiatives would significantly improve the city’s infrastructure, traffic management, and public facilities.
Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies appreciated the overall performance of RDA and lauded the efforts of its officers and staff. They expressed satisfaction with the pace of urban development and emphasized the importance of sustainable development, directing that effective urban planning, environmental protection, and improvement of civic amenities should be prioritized to further enhance the quality of life of citizens.
At the conclusion of the meeting, directions were issued for the timely completion of development projects, strengthening inter departmental coordination, and ensuring that public interest remains the top priority.
The meeting was attended by Members of National Assembly Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam Raja, Malik Abrar Ahmed, and Barrister Muhammad Aqeel, along with Members of Provincial Assembly Raja Abdul Haneef, Shaukat Aziz Bhatti, Naeem Ejaz, Mohsin Ayub Khan, and Imran Ilyas. Additionally, Director Engineering RDA Muhammad Anwar Baran, Chief Planner RDA Muhammad Tahir Meo, Director Finance Shahid Yaqoob, Deputy Director Engineering Muhammad Kamran Chaudhry, and other officers were also present.
