The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has signed an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the sidelines of the 11th Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), held in Doha, Qatar. The agreement aims to enhance international cooperation in combating corruption and financial crimes.
According to a NAB spokesperson, the MoU was signed by Chairman NAB, Lieutenant General (Retd) Nazir Ahmed, and Executive Chairman of EFCC, Olanipekun Olukoyede. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
The collaboration is fully aligned with the international obligations of both Pakistan and Nigeria under the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and represents a joint vision to counter cross-border corruption and prevent financial crimes.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman NAB Lieutenant General (Retd) Nazir Ahmed said that the partnership would not only strengthen investigative and legal capacities but also reinforce the global fight against corruption. He emphasized that through mutual cooperation, NAB and EFCC would ensure that the delivery of justice is not confined by national boundaries.
