Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider stated that in the past, youth were misguided, negatively affecting their future. He emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always provided a genuine platform for young people to play a positive role in national politics.
The announcement was made at the National Press Club Islamabad, where several senior leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) formally joined PPP. Sardar Saleem Haider welcomed the youth political workers into the “Party of Martyrs” and assured them they would not face disappointment.
He highlighted that even during challenging times in Kashmir, no one left PPP, reflecting the party’s strong ideological foundations. He also praised Faisal Rathore as an emerging youth leader in Kashmir and expressed confidence that PPP would form the government again in the future.
Sardar Saleem Haider underlined the party’s contributions to Kashmir and stated that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is not only the party leader but also a national need. Despite past political and electoral setbacks, the party has always prioritized national interests over party gains.
He affirmed that PPP supports the current political system for the sake of stability. During Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s recent visit to Punjab, several MNAs and MPAs joined the party.
New entrants officially joining PPP included Ch. Zahid Fareed, Vice Chairman District Jhelum Wally, Ch. Muhammad Shakeel (former Speaker Youth Assembly), Ch. Sajid Rafiq, Ch. Abid Hussain, and Ch. Sajid along with a large number of their supporters. The announcement was made in the presence of Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider and President Azad Jammu & Kashmir Ch. Yaseen.
Speaking at the event, the newly joined leaders expressed complete confidence in Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership, praising his people-centric vision and youth empowerment policies. Ch. Yaseen, President of PPP Azad Jammu & Kashmir, highlighted the party’s transparent history and assured that the political future of new members is secure and promising.
