Islamabad (Staff Reporter):
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Senator Sherry Rehman on Monday said that India has failed to respond to the United Nations despite being given time, warning that India’s alleged involvement in terrorism could trigger a major conflict in the region.
Speaking to the media, Senator Rehman stated that the United Nations had sought an explanation from India, but no response was provided. She claimed that India has been found involved in international terrorism and referred to reports alleging the involvement of Indian nationals in the Sydney shooting incident. She also urged the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to examine India’s role in terrorist activities.
Senator Rehman further said that a UN report has expressed concerns over the risk of wider conflicts and alleged that India is involved in acts of terrorism as well as violations of the Indus Waters Treaty.
On the occasion, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt said that Pakistan’s narrative is gaining recognition at the international level, adding that Pakistan’s stance is based on truth and facts. She termed India’s behavior as highly irresponsible.
Senator Bushra Anjum Butt also alleged that Indian proxies are involved in terrorist activities in Balochistan and said that India’s “true face” is being exposed before the international community. She maintained that India currently has no answers to these allegations, while Pakistan remains a responsible country that has always sought peace.
