KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Rejects Verdict Against Imran Khan, Calls It Unjust

Peshawar (Bureau Report)

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has strongly reacted to the recent court verdict against PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, terming the decision contrary to justice.

Addressing a national conference in Peshawar, Sohail Afridi said that an unfair verdict had been delivered against his leader. He stated that much discussion is held regarding the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, but the reality is that justice was not being delivered even before these amendments. According to him, institutions and the democratic system were already paralyzed, which is why Imran Khan supported transparent elections through a biometric system.

Criticizing the judicial system, the Chief Minister said that courts are announcing decisions, but justice is not being served. He warned that those who believe they are secure today because they are in power are living under an illusion.

Sohail Afridi maintained that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are innocent and that bogus cases have been registered against them. He emphasized that political parties should remain political entities and should not become tools of any force. He further said that harmful traditions are being established against political leaders, which pose a serious threat to democracy, adding that this struggle is a fight for strengthening democracy and must be won at all costs.
