Rawalpindi (Staff Reporter):
Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has stated that individuals advocating negotiations are neither associated with her brother nor can be considered his close aides.Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Aleema Khan said that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been sentenced to 17 years imprisonment each in the Toshakhana case, while no clear response has emerged to date regarding a vehicle allegedly acquired from Toshakhana by PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz. She termed this disparity a mockery of the law.
Aleema Khan said that Imran Khan represents the majority of the country’s population and recalled that he had called for a peaceful protest on November 22 last year. She said the only allegation against him was that he conveyed this message to the public. She criticized the justice system, stating that police officials are being presented as witnesses in cases against PTI leaders, while no action is taken against those who give false testimony. She added that this has raised serious questions about the delivery of justice.
According to Aleema Khan, Imran Khan has always advocated the rule of law, but judges who speak in favor of legal principles face pressure. She described the Toshakhana case as baseless, saying the allegation revolves around undervaluing a necklace, yet resulted in a 17-year prison sentence, while other matters are being ignored. She further said that Imran Khan, in his recent message, expressed readiness to make every sacrifice for the nation. She added that he has been imprisoned for the past two and a half years, has always faced legal cases, and rejected offers to leave the country.Aleema Khan alleged that some judges who delivered questionable verdicts later left the country and said their names would be remembered. She also accused judges of anti-terrorism courts of appearing to act under a planned scheme.
She disclosed that she had conveyed Imran Khan’s message to the media and that journalists would be made witnesses in this regard. She also said that 11 books were sent to Imran Khan in jail, out of which nine have been received.Aleema Khan added that Imran Khan has issued instructions to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leadership regarding a street movement.
