Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Saudi Defense Minister, Receives Kingdom’s Highest National Honor

Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a high-level meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman, during his official visit to the Kingdom, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to regional peace, security, and counterterrorism cooperation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, including the regional security environment, defence and military cooperation, strategic collaboration, and emerging geopolitical and geostrategic challenges. The discussions underscored the deep-rooted, historic, and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was conferred the King Abdulaziz Medal, the highest national honor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under a royal decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The award recognizes Field Marshal Munir’s distinguished military services, exemplary leadership, and his pivotal role in strengthening defence cooperation, strategic alignment, and institutional ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The honor also reflects his contributions toward promoting regional peace and stability, particularly in the areas of counterterrorism and security cooperation. Saudi leadership praised Field Marshal Asim Munir’s professional competence and strategic vision, while appreciating his continued commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and brotherly relations between the two countries.

Expressing gratitude for the honor, Field Marshal Asim Munir thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi leadership, describing the award as a symbol of the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the security, stability, and prosperity of the Kingdom.
