Arif Habib Pledges Job Creation and Fleet Expansion for PIA After Acquisition

Renowned businessman Arif Habib, after acquiring Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has indicated plans to increase employment and expand the airline’s fleet.

In an exclusive conversation with the media, Arif Habib said, “I believe today is a victory for Pakistan, Alhamdulillah! This move will boost investment in the country. PIA is our national institution and has witnessed remarkable days, ranking among the world’s best airlines.”

He highlighted the capabilities of PIA’s workforce, noting that the airline currently has 18 aircraft, of which 14 are operational. “In the first phase, we aim to increase PIA’s fleet to 38 aircraft, and in the second phase, to 65 aircraft. Later, we will further expand the fleet based on demand,” he added.

Arif Habib emphasized that the airline’s staff will be empowered and their expertise utilized, with experienced professionals continuing to serve PIA. He also hinted at potential collaboration with the Fauji Fertilizer Group as part of the expansion plans.
