The Kalash tribe’s religious and cultural festival, Chamush, concluded successfully this year, celebrated with traditional enthusiasm across the three Kalash valleys of Rumbur, Brier, and Bumburet.
According to the Tourism Department spokesperson, the festival included various religious rituals that form an integral part of Kalash culture and beliefs. A large number of domestic and international tourists attended the event, gaining a close insight into the unique traditions of the Kalash community.
The Tourism Department stated that the Tourism Police ensured smooth facilities for the visitors, while security and traffic duties were maintained on the routes leading to the Lowari Tunnel and the Kalash valleys. Chamush is celebrated as a symbol of welcoming winter, joy, and peace. During the festival, fruits, vegetables, and dry fruits were distributed to spread love, unity, and a message of harmony.
The Kalash Development Authority also provided various facilities to ensure the festival was celebrated in a safe and pleasant environment, promoting cultural tourism and understanding of the Kalash heritage.
