Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised the long-standing and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emphasizing that the ties are rooted in mutual respect, friendship, and close cooperation spanning several decades.
The Prime Minister expressed these views during a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohammed Salem Al-Buawaz Al-Zabi, at the Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch. PM Shehbaz warmly welcomed the ambassador and congratulated him on his recent appointment to Pakistan.
The Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to the leadership of the UAE and expressed anticipation for the upcoming visit of UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also expressed satisfaction over the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries and stressed the need to further strengthen economic ties, enhance trade and investment opportunities, and expand cooperation in key sectors such as energy, minerals, information technology, railways, and aviation.
Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its relations with the UAE, the Prime Minister invited UAE investment in crucial sectors to support Pakistan’s economic growth and stability. He also appreciated the UAE’s consistent support to Pakistan during difficult times, including humanitarian aid and development projects.
Ambassador Salem Al-Buawaz Al-Zabi thanked the Prime Minister and conveyed greetings and goodwill from UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to deepening partnerships across all sectors and assured that efforts would be made to explore new avenues of cooperation for mutual benefit.
