The 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), HI(M), Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, reaffirmed the resolve to deal decisively and without compromise with all terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors operating under Indian patronage.
The forum offered Fateha for the martyrs of the Pakistan Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist incidents. Participants paid rich tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in defense of the motherland and in resisting terrorism promoted at the behest of foreign elements.
The Army Chief commended the unwavering courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, and lauded their determined efforts in intelligence-based counterterrorism operations conducted across the country in recent months. He noted that, through coordinated efforts of the government and the military—backed by the steadfast support of the Pakistani people—the country is steadily and surely moving toward stability, broader opportunities, and dignity.
The conference undertook a comprehensive review of the internal and external security environment, emphasizing emerging threats and operational preparedness. It categorically rejected any nexus between terrorism, crime, and political interests, asserting that no individual or group—political or otherwise—will be allowed to undermine national unity, security, or stability, or to create divisions between the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan.
The forum appreciated the Government of Balochistan’s special development initiatives aimed at empowering local communities and addressing governance-related drivers of terrorism through social cohesion. Participants stressed the need to replicate similar people-centric measures in other regions in line with the National Action Plan to ensure sustainable peace and stability.
The conference reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and their legitimate struggle. It also reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestine issue, calling for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered humanitarian access, and a credible pathway toward a Palestinian state.
In concluding remarks, the Army Chief directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, physical fitness, innovation, and battlefield professionalism. He expressed full confidence in the Pakistan Army’s capability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to effectively counter threats across the spectrum—from conventional and sub-conventional to hybrid and asymmetric challenges.
