A large and peaceful protest was staged by affected residents in Sector H-16 during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Danesh University and Jinnah Medical Complex on Tuesday. The demonstrators protested against what they described as unjust and contradictory decisions taken by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

The protest was joined by landowners from Sectors H-16, C-16, C-13, E-13, F-13, and D-13, who claimed that CDA’s land acquisition policies are against public interest. They stated that despite the passage of several years, affected people have neither received fair compensation nor transparent allotment of alternate plots.

The protesters demanded the immediate cancellation of awards issued under SRO or “Googly 2008” and the withdrawal of related notices. They also called for the removal of bureaucratic hurdles and the prompt issuance of allotment letters.

Participants further demanded the reversal of CDA decisions that, according to them, are depriving local residents of their legitimate rights. Addressing the protest, representatives of the affected families said they had been peacefully demanding justice for a long time, but the authorities had failed to respond.
They emphasized that the protest was a democratic right against CDA’s rigid stance and warned that they would not step back until justice is served.
