Lahore (Bureau Report)
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said that the behavior adopted by PTI ministers in the Punjab Assembly was evident to everyone, adding that it reflects the government’s tolerance that they are still present in Punjab.
Talking to the media, Azma Bukhari said that Chief Minister Suhail Afridi is a citizen of Pakistan and has every right to be in the country. She stated that the Punjab government welcomed Chief Minister Suhail Afridi and clarified that only individuals whose names were included on the official list were allowed entry into the Punjab Assembly.
She further alleged that individuals without authorization were forced into the assembly premises. Azma Bukhari remarked that those who spent their tenure merely undergoing training now even object to sanitation work. She emphasized that public funds are meant to be spent on the people and added that if someone has objections, there is little the government can do.
Condemning the language used by PTI ministers, she said it was a display of the government’s patience that they continue to remain in Punjab. She reiterated that indiscriminate action would be taken against land grabbers. Azma Bukhari also strongly condemned the alleged violence by assembly guards against journalists.
The information minister said that Chief Minister Suhail Afridi is a guest of Punjab and ensuring his security is the government’s responsibility. She added that the government would have faced criticism even if security arrangements had not been made, and now criticism is being directed despite ensuring proper security.
