ISLAMABAD COURT REPORTER
The founders and Bushra Bibi have prepared appeals challenging the verdict against them in the Tosha Khana-II case, which will be filed in the Islamabad High Court.
According to the appeals, the court relied on the statement of Anwar Allah Shah, a dismissed witness, which the petitioners claim is legally improper. The court also relied on the testimony of a pardoned witness, which they say contradicts the law.
The petitioners argue that the prosecution failed to prove the case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. Through barrister Salman Safdar, two separate appeals will be filed on Monday in the Islamabad High Court, seeking the annulment of the Tosha Khana-II verdict.
The appeal further states that a person cannot be punished multiple times for the same crime, and the Special Central Court did not have jurisdiction over this case. It also claims that Sohaib Abbasi was illegally made a key witness.
The petitioners maintain that the Bulgarian seat was retained by the former ruling couple according to Tosha Khana rules. They claim the case was filed without proper investigation and is being used as political revenge. Additionally, the petitioners argue that, as government employees, the proceedings against them violate the law.
