Pink Ribbon Youth Seminar Held at Islamia University Bahawalpur to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

A Pink Ribbon Youth Seminar focusing on breast cancer awareness among women was organized at Islamia University Bahawalpur under the auspices of the Women Health Care Center and Maternity Home.

Director and Consultant Gynecologist for Women’s Health, Dr. Safeena Siddiq, welcomed the distinguished guests and thanked the organizing committees, including the teams from the Directorate of Students Affairs, for their efforts. She also briefed participants about the modern facilities available at the Women Health Care Center.

The seminar’s chief guest was Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Robina Bhatti, who emphasized the alarming rise of breast cancer cases in Pakistan and highlighted the urgent need for awareness and early detection. The keynote speaker, Dr. Farhat-ul-Ain Tayyaba, General and Breast Reconstructive Surgeon at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, spoke about early diagnosis techniques and the importance of timely medical intervention.

Additional Director Women Health, Dr. Sameena Ejaz, provided a detailed overview of breast cancer, while Dr. Zarmeena Aram and Dr. Sheema shared insights on awareness, prevention, and precautionary measures.

The event was also attended by Professor Dr. Nasreen, Dean Faculty of Special Education, along with Dr. Samar Fahad, Dr. Naveen Javed, Dr. Anbreen, Dr. Amber, and Dr. Misbah Nausheen. The seminar aimed to educate women about the risks, symptoms, self-examination practices, and the importance of regular medical check-ups for the prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
