Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani emphasized the visionary leadership of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, during a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr to mark his 149th birth anniversary. Addressing the event themed “Quaid and Children,” he said Quaid-e-Azam’s dedication to integrity, constitutional struggle, and justice shaped the course of history, and Pakistan remains committed to upholding his principles and moral values.

Chairman Gilani highlighted the importance of youth in shaping the country’s future and urged them to embrace unity, discipline, constitutionalism, and rule of law in line with the Quaid’s vision. He praised Quaid-e-Azam as a steadfast believer in democratic and constitutional methods who transformed the All India Muslim League into a popular political movement culminating in the historic 1940 Lahore Resolution.

The event featured performances by students from various schools, including national songs, recitation of the Quran, and Naat. AI-generated videos titled “Voice of Jinnah-1” showcased Quaid-e-Azam addressing the nation in 1947 and presenting his vision for a free and prosperous Pakistan. Students also recited Allama Iqbal’s poetry and performed patriotic songs honoring the Quaid.

Chairman Gilani underscored the relevance of Quaid-e-Azam’s guidance on eradicating corruption, nepotism, and injustice, and called on public officials to prioritize national interest over personal gain. He concluded by urging the youth to adopt the Quaid’s principles of faith, discipline, and selfless service to build a prosperous and inclusive Pakistan. The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting to celebrate the 149th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam.
