An orderly room meeting was held at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Headquarters to take disciplinary action against officers and officials found guilty of misconduct, corruption, negligence, and misuse of authority.
During the proceedings, punishments were awarded to 10 officers and officials for violations of discipline, corruption, and exceeding official authority. Additionally, six officials were issued warnings for absence from duty and training courses.
Inspector Muhammad Iqbal was demoted to the rank of Sub-Inspector for one year for failing to verify a driving license during the recruitment of a constable driver. Technical Assistant Nazish Akmal was dismissed from service due to prolonged absence. Inspector Asad Iftikhar Awan was penalized with a reduction of two pay scales for two years for poor investigation.
Constable Kamran Saleem was punished with a one-year promotion stoppage for absence from duty, while Head Constable Muhammad Ali was dismissed from service on similar charges. Constable Muhammad Hamza was awarded a three-year increment stoppage for absence from training at the National Highway and Motorway Police Training College, Sheikhupura, whereas Constable Muhammad Waqar received a one-year increment stoppage for the same offense.
Warnings were also issued to Head Constable Muhammad Adnan, ASI Aasim Gulzar, Head Constable Shoaib Muhammad Khan, Constable Inder Kumar, Constable Rubia Sajid, and Constable Tahir Hussain for absence from duty and training.
Director General FIA Riffat Mukhtar Raja stated that the purpose of departmental accountability is to ensure strict compliance with legal and professional standards. He emphasized that corruption, negligence, and poor investigation will not be tolerated in the FIA. He further added that a strict accountability process is underway to eliminate corruption and black sheep from the organization, and firm action is being taken against officials involved in illegal activities.
