The number of vehicles equipped with M-Tags has surpassed 100,000, as authorities prepare to start action against vehicles without M-Tags from January 1. Following the approaching deadline, M-Tag centers across Islamabad have seen a significant increase in public footfall.
To facilitate citizens, additional staff and stock have been deployed at the centers. Since November 14, over 100,000 vehicles have received M-Tags, with 3,842 issued in the last 24 hours alone.
Assistant Commissioners have been conducting inspections at M-Tag centers to ensure smooth operations. Starting January 1, vehicles without M-Tags will be stopped at various entry points, and M-Tag readers will be activated to identify non-compliant vehicles.
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has instructed M-Tag center staff to accelerate the issuance process and emphasized that every effort is being made to provide maximum convenience to citizens. The number of M-Tag centers has been increased to 16 to accommodate the growing demand.
