Pakistan has strongly rejected Israel’s announcement regarding the recognition of Somaliland as an independent state, reaffirming its full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia.Addressing an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan’s Permanent Deputy Representative to the UN, Usman Jadoon, said that Pakistan categorically rejects the Israeli move to recognize Somaliland. He emphasized that Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be fully respected.
Usman Jadoon stated that the announcement constitutes a clear violation of international law. He further said that Pakistan rejects any attempt aimed at the displacement of the Palestinian people, stressing that such actions would also be in violation of international legal principles.The Pakistani diplomat urged the international community to carefully consider Israel’s decision, warning that unilateral actions of this nature undermine international law and regional stability. He reiterated Pakistan’s consistent stance in support of Somalia’s unity and its opposition to any actions that violate established international norms.
