The United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed disappointment over Saudi Arabia’s recent statements regarding Yemen and rejected all related allegations. Saudi Arabia had demanded that the UAE withdraw its forces from Yemen within 24 hours and immediately halt any military or financial support to any party.

In its statement, Saudi Arabia emphasized that negotiations remain the only solution for peace in Yemen. The statement criticized the UAE for allegedly pressuring the Yemeni Southern Transitional Council to undertake military actions, describing the move as regrettable and a threat to national security, the stability of Yemen, and regional peace.

The UAE responded by stating that it was disappointed with the Saudi statement and rejected all allegations. The UAE clarified that the ships docked at Al Mukalla port were not carrying weapons and were intended for UAE forces, not Yemeni groups. The UAE urged responsible handling of recent developments in Yemen and called for de-escalation to prevent further tension.

According to Arab media, Yemeni Presidential Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi ordered that all UAE forces leave Yemen within 24 hours. Additionally, all Yemeni ports and land, air, and sea passages have been closed for 72 hours. These orders follow limited airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition targeting Al Mukalla port.
