CDA Chairman Meets Uzbek Ambassador to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Cultural Cooperation

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtayev, at the CDA Headquarters on Wednesday. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest and enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that Pakistan highly values its relations with its brotherly country, Uzbekistan. Ambassador Tukhtayev noted the cultural, social, and religious commonalities between the two countries and expressed his gratitude to the CDA Chairman for taking time from his busy schedule.

During the meeting, several key initiatives were discussed, including:

  • Granting Islamabad and Tashkent the status of sister cities.
  • Allocating a dedicated area for Uzbekistan in F-9 Park, with alternatives including Sector F-9 Park or Gardenia Hub.
  • Relocating the Uzbek Embassy to the diplomatic enclave, coordinated through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Beautification and upgrading of the diplomatic enclave.
  • Naming a street in Islamabad “New Uzbekistan,” to be pursued via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Tukhtayev praised CDA’s efforts to enhance Islamabad’s beauty and development, describing the city as exceptionally green, clean, and naturally beautiful.

Chairman Randhawa stressed that both countries should benefit from each other’s experiences and capabilities. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest and cultural exchange.
