Islamabad (Crime Reporter)
Islamabad Traffic Police has devised a special traffic plan for New Year’s Eve to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow. Over 350 traffic officers and personnel will be deployed across major roads and key locations in the city.
From 7:00 PM on December 31 until 3:00 AM, heavy vehicles will be completely restricted from entering Islamabad. Due to New Year celebrations, heavy traffic is expected on Express Highway, Jinnah Avenue, Srinagar Highway, Club Road, Murree Road, and Park Road. Traffic congestion is also anticipated at Jinnah Avenue Flyover, Zero Point, Khanna, and PWD Underpass.
To prevent reckless driving, wheelies, and stunts, eight special squads have been formed. Strict legal action will be taken against car skating and dangerous driving. Traffic authorities have urged parents to strictly prohibit underage driving and wheelies. Special traffic teams will be stationed at recreational areas, and citizens are advised to use alternative routes from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM. No parking will be allowed on city streets during this period.
Islamabad Traffic Police assured that all resources will be deployed to ensure citizen safety and smooth traffic flow throughout New Year’s Eve celebrations.
