The first rain of the winter season lashed Karachi late at night, leading to a noticeable drop in temperature and an increase in cold intensity across the city.
Areas including I.I. Chundrigar Road, PIDC, Sultanabad, Ziauddin Ahmed Road, and Civil Lines received heavy showers. Rain was also recorded in Shahrah-e-Faisal, Tariq Road, Saddar, Soldier Bazaar, Jamshed Road, and surrounding localities. Parts of SITE Area, Metroville, and Orangi Town experienced light to moderate rainfall.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain during the daytime as well. The Met Office stated that intermittent drizzle and light showers may continue, which could further lower temperatures.
Rain was also reported in several cities of upper Sindh, including Larkana, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Naudero, and Khanpur. Light to moderate rainfall in Lakhi Ghulam Shah and Garhi Yaseen caused a significant increase in chill. Hyderabad also witnessed intermittent rain, while electricity supply was disrupted in several areas due to feeder tripping.
Meanwhile, rain was recorded in various parts of Punjab as well. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in Lahore today and tomorrow.
