Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Directs Ministries to Submit Comprehensive Strategies for Investment, Economic Growth

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has requested all ministries related to the economy to submit proposals for practical measures and a comprehensive strategy with a minimum implementation timeline. He emphasized that providing institutional and administrative facilities for investors remains a top government priority.

Speaking during a review meeting on the first day of the new year, the Prime Minister stressed that proposals to promote exports and prioritize proposed development projects should be given special attention to boost investment. He also highlighted that coordination among ministries and cooperation between federal and provincial governments is critical for effective economic reforms and overall growth.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Ullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahd Khan Cheema, Special Advisors Rana Sanaullah and Haroon Akhtar, chief secretaries of all provinces, the National Coordinator of SIFC, and other senior officials.

During the session, ministries briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing development projects and progress in economic, institutional, and administrative reforms. The Prime Minister instructed all ministries to ensure effective coordination among themselves and with provincial authorities, highlighting that successful implementation of the government’s economic governance policy depends on it.

He further directed ministries to provide recommendations for facilitating both domestic and foreign investment and to focus on industrial production, agriculture, and other key sectors. Pakistani missions abroad were also tasked with assisting foreign investors by providing preliminary information and services to promote investment opportunities effectively.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reiterated that enhancing investor convenience, promoting exports, and executing strategic development projects are essential for accelerating Pakistan’s economic growth and reform agenda.
