Under the special directives of Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Pakistan Railways has launched a robust anti-encroachment operation in the Rawalpindi Division to reclaim government land from illegal occupiers. The operation was conducted jointly by Pakistan Railways and the Railway Police to remove encroachments from valuable railway property.
According to a Railway spokesperson, during today’s action, 11 commercial shops illegally constructed on railway land were either partially or completely demolished. Certain residential and commercial sections were spared complete demolition due to humanitarian considerations. The operation successfully reclaimed a total of 3,509 square feet of valuable railway land, estimated to be worth millions of rupees.
The operation was directly overseen by the Divisional Engineer-I, Deputy Director of Land, and SP Railway Police. Pakistan Railways administration reaffirmed its commitment to protecting national assets, vowing that operations against illegal encroachments will continue without discrimination and that no illegal occupation of railway land will be tolerated.
