KP Chief Minister Soheil Afridi Expresses Willingness to Engage Establishment on Provincial Matters

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Soheil Afridi has said that he is ready to hold talks with the establishment to improve relations and address provincial matters.

Talking to journalists, the KP chief minister said that PTI founder Imran Khan has not assigned him any task regarding talks with the establishment. He clarified that Imran Khan has entrusted the responsibility of dialogue to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas.

Soheil Afridi reiterated that he is willing to engage with the establishment on issues related to the province and emphasized that the government, establishment, and all stakeholders should formulate policies in line with public interests.

He said that if any official event or meeting takes place, he would meet Field Marshal Asim Munir. He stressed that the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law must prevail in the country and that conditions and environment should be conducive for dialogue regarding Imran Khan’s release.

The chief minister said that the PTI founder’s sisters have a legitimate right to come out publicly and that they are making efforts for their brother’s release. He added that their visit to Karachi aims to mobilize the public in support of Imran Khan’s release.

Soheil Afridi also admitted that he had used inappropriate language during his visit to Lahore, stating that it was a reaction to the situation at the time. He apologized for the use of inappropriate language during the Lahore visit.
