Islamabad (Staff Reporter):
President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his 98th birth anniversary, calling him a visionary leader whose life and leadership left a profound impact on the history of Pakistan.

In a statement issued by the Presidential Press Wing, President Zardari described Bhutto as a transformative political figure who continues to inspire generations with his charisma and commitment to the nation.

He highlighted that Bhutto founded the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) with a vision of justice, equality, and empowerment for all citizens. Under his leadership, Pakistan adopted its first unanimous Constitution in 1973, establishing the country’s parliamentary democracy and federal structure.

President Zardari also noted Bhutto’s efforts to advocate for marginalized communities, protect workers’ rights, implement land reforms, and promote education and public services—aimed at giving farmers, laborers, women, and underprivileged groups dignity and opportunities.

He described Bhutto as a key architect of Pakistan’s nuclear program, which strengthened the country’s sovereign defense capabilities and national security. Bhutto’s leadership also bolstered Pakistan’s independent foreign policy and strengthened relations with friendly nations. President Zardari recalled Bhutto’s hosting of the historic 1974 Islamic Summit Conference, which enhanced cooperation and solidarity across the Muslim world.

The President emphasized that Bhutto’s ability to build consensus led to the creation of Pakistan’s first democratic, federal, and parliamentary Constitution under the principle of “one person, one vote”. He urged the nation to emulate Bhutto’s spirit of unity, public service, and commitment to democratic values.

Concluding his message, President Zardari said that on Bhutto’s 98th birth anniversary, the nation should reaffirm its commitment to his vision of a just, democratic, and prosperous Pakistan, and pray that his political and intellectual legacy continues to guide collective efforts for peace, development, and national unity Pakistan Zindabad.
