Baseless Propaganda Against State Fuels Social Unrest, Says Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta Bureau Report

Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has stated that baseless propaganda against the state gives rise to social unrest and violence, stressing the need to guide the youth in the right direction by sharing facts and promoting positive narratives.

He expressed these views while chairing a high-level meeting of the Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan, and other senior officials.

The Chief Minister said the Center of Excellence would serve as an effective platform for research, awareness, and countering violent extremism. He emphasized that institutional coordination and modern strategies are essential to curb extremism in the province.

Sarfraz Bugti added that the government would promote positive narratives through educational institutions and social media, while youth engagement and awareness remain key priorities for maintaining law and order.

He further stated that the Levies Force has been merged into the police across Balochistan, ending a long-standing administrative ambiguity regarding uniform law enforcement. He said the decision would clarify state responsibility and further strengthen public protection mechanisms.
