FIA DG Rifat Mukhtar Raja Launches Strict Internal Accountability, 271 Officers Punished in 2025, 88 Dismissed

Under the directives of FIA Director General Rifat Mukhtar Raja, a strict internal accountability process is underway in the agency. The Directorate of Internal Accountability reported that in 2025, a total of 271 officers and staff were punished for various violations, including 88 dismissed for corruption, breach of discipline, and misuse of authority.

Among those dismissed were 2 Deputy Directors, 6 Assistant Directors, 13 Inspectors, 20 Sub-Inspectors, 5 ASIs, 13 Head Constables, 20 Constables, and 9 ministerial staff. Additionally, 10 officers received demotions, and 168 were given minor penalties or had promotions withheld.

DG FIA emphasized that there is no place in the agency for officers involved in corruption, negligence, or flawed investigations, and strict action is being taken against those engaged in illegal activities. Rifat Mukhtar Raja stated that the agency is committed to cleansing itself of corruption and rogue elements, ensuring strict accountability, and that negligent officers will face real consequences.

The accountability measures aim to enforce legal and professional standards, making it possible to eliminate human trafficking and corruption within the FIA.
